The AMIGO™ ZERO Waste reel-less design eliminates the recycling of the
old reels

MESA, AZ – October 23, 2018 – PCT International, Inc. (PCT)

PCT International, Inc. (PCT), a leading manufacturer of broadband communications products that support the multichannel video, voice and high-speed data services including coaxial cable and fiber optics, announced today cable packaging that will eliminate the reels that have burdened operators and the environment.

For decades the coaxial cable packaging has utilized any combination of plywood, cardboard boxes, plastic and metal fasteners. The burden of recycling has been heavy and the recycle/return efforts have proved to be minimal with poor participation. To solve this problem, PCT International has developed a backward compatible reel-less design that uses coils of cable that are loaded into a carrying and dispensing bag.

“Our industries have taken the ecological sustainability effort seriously and we have partnered to enhance the offering aligned with their great efforts,” said Adrian O’Leary, President of PCT International.

“The AMIGO™ reel-less design eliminates the recycling of the old reels,” stated Doug MacLeod, Product Line Manager. “We’ve calculated that, for a single operator of 5.5 million subscribers, this would eliminate the recycling of 400,000 reels (48 million cubic feet of waste) annually,” he added.

Patented contact from CPE Ports to Coax eliminates burst noise and loose connector issues

MESA, AZ – October 23, 2018 – PCT International, Inc. (PCT)  PCT International, Inc. (PCT), a leading manufacturer of broadband communications products that support the multichannel video, voice and high-speed data services including coaxial cable and fiber optics, announced today that the innovative Connectivity Jumper Sleeve, SignalGuard™, is in full production.

With the increased demand for capacity per subscriber, it is imperative to ensure a good performing upstream and downstream transmission medium. The Patented Connectivity Jumper Sleeve prohibits upstream noise transmission that hinders data transfer.  The design eliminates burst noise and maintains continuity between the customer premise equipment port and the network coaxial cable. This design is proven to improve performance.

“The SignalGuard is yet another leading edge technology invention from PCT International that solves common network issues,” said Adrian O’Leary, President of PCT International. “With data speeds reaching 1 Gbps, the transmission medium must be flawless” he added.

“The connector design initiates ground continuity with a contact mechanism prior to the center conductor and maintains continuity through the connector’s interface nut and metal body.” Stated Tim Youtsey, VP of Connector Engineering.  “We’ve addressed common operator issues with this invention surrounding burst noise and common mode disturbance,” he added.

PCT’s Multi-Tap Optical Node with “Smart Power Inserter”

Flexible Optical Node Without the Need for Line Powering

Flexible Optical Node Without the Need for Line Powering

MESA, AZ – October 23, 2018 – PCT International, Inc. (PCT)  PCT International, Inc. (PCT), a leading manufacturer of broadband communications products that support the multichannel video, voice and high-speed data services including coaxial cable and fiber optics, announced the introduction of a flexible optical platform with “Smart” powering from the subscribers.

Complementing the optical platforms available today, this wall mount or strand mounted multi-tap node has a powering option that services 8 homes without the need for line powering. The device may be powered by the subscriber using approximately 3% of the total power when considering that of CPE devices such as set-tops, DOCSIS 3.1 modems and home drop amplifiers. The unit is compatible with PON networks and has options for various wavelengths including CWDM.

“The MTN Multi-Tap Node has increased versatility for indoor and outdoor applications using existing coax drops. Furthermore, the powering option eliminates the need for line powering beyond the last active network amplifier or in Node plus zero applications,” said Adrian O’Leary, President of PCT International. “It is a simple optical upgrade as networks reduce node sizes and drive fiber deeper into the network to the homes,” he added.

“The power consumption is balanced such that with 4 subscribers serviced it is divided by 4 and with 8 serviced it is divided by 8. Whether there are 1 or 8 homes it adjusts automatically and provides redundant power from 2 to 8 homes,” stated Humberto Valdes, VP of Product Line Management and Field Services.  “We’ve addressed operational cost reductions removing the need for added line power supplies with redundancy as well,” he added.
