The AMIGO™ ZERO Waste reel-less design eliminates the recycling of the
old reels

MESA, AZ – October 23, 2018 – PCT International, Inc. (PCT)

PCT International, Inc. (PCT), a leading manufacturer of broadband communications products that support the multichannel video, voice and high-speed data services including coaxial cable and fiber optics, announced today cable packaging that will eliminate the reels that have burdened operators and the environment.

For decades the coaxial cable packaging has utilized any combination of plywood, cardboard boxes, plastic and metal fasteners. The burden of recycling has been heavy and the recycle/return efforts have proved to be minimal with poor participation. To solve this problem, PCT International has developed a backward compatible reel-less design that uses coils of cable that are loaded into a carrying and dispensing bag.

“Our industries have taken the ecological sustainability effort seriously and we have partnered to enhance the offering aligned with their great efforts,” said Adrian O’Leary, President of PCT International.

“The AMIGO™ reel-less design eliminates the recycling of the old reels,” stated Doug MacLeod, Product Line Manager. “We’ve calculated that, for a single operator of 5.5 million subscribers, this would eliminate the recycling of 400,000 reels (48 million cubic feet of waste) annually,” he added.
