PCT HDMI Cables Receive Premium Certification

PCT News | June 1, 2016

PCT International, Inc. (PCT), a leading manufacturer of broadband communications products supporting video, voice and high-speed data services, including coaxial cable and fiber optics, announced today that its HDMI cables have been certified by the Premium HDMI Certification Program.

The HDMI Certification Program was established to allow consumers to ensure the HDMI cables available for pct-hdmi-cablepurchase meet high-bandwidth, high-definition specifications—including “4K” and “ultraHD.” In order to achieve certification, companies must have their products tested at approved HDMI Authorized Test Centers. Cables must meet many requirements, including delivering high-definition video at fast speeds (18 gigabytes per second) to multiple users. Products are also tested for “shielding”, which protects against electro-magnetic interference (EMI) or signal “leakage”.

Once approved, companies’ HDMI products receive certification, including a package label denoting certification. Consumers can quickly determine which products are HDMI certified, protecting them against piracy or false claims by manufacturers.

“PCT is a pioneer in the HDMI standards,” said Steve Youtsey, founder and chief executive officer of PCT International. “We are dedicated to delivering only the highest quality products—our cables have long exceeded the standards set by the industry,” added Youtsey.

PCT has also been approved as an HDMI Adopter, which means it is licensed to use the HDMI standard. Only HDMI Adopters may use and receive certification of their products and have access to the latest versions of the HDMI specification and its compliance test specifications (CTS).

PCT will be attending ANGA COM, Europe’s premiere exhibition and congress for broadband, cable and satellite, June 7-9, 2016, in Cologne, Germany. PCT will be available in Hall 10.2 Stand L30. For more information please visit the ANGA COM website.
